Job Opportunities: Women & Minorities Wanted
With up to 40% of the mining workforce eligible to retire next year, and the average Canadian miner’s age being over 45 years old, it’s no wonder this industry needs to attract new workers.
Based on recent research, this could mean the mining industry will need to hire 60,000 to 90,000 new workers by 2017.
Who do they want to attract? Minorities, including women and aboriginal people.
